Duck neck
Sunday, 11 July 2010

Aurora loves food! It does not matter what it is. Dried meat, an egg or a chicken wing, she eats everything. Last weekend we got duck necks from a friend. She had them for her cat, but they didn’t like them. Well, Aurora loves it!

PS. In the background you can hear Vulcan and Faylinn who was in heat.

In heat
Sunday, 11 July 2010

Faylinn was in heat again. Every six weeks she is in heat for one week. Then she loves everything and everyone, she screams the whole neighborhood together, let her smell behind the doors and asks even more than usual for a hug.

Spotagious Vulcan
Wednesday, 07 July 2010

Unfortunately we have had to decide to withdraw Vulcan from our breeding program before he was able to give us a litter with one of our girls.

On Vulcan his coat several lockets have developed. A locket is a white spot that can come forth anywhere on the body. Vulcan has lockets on his belly. Those appaired at an older age, and fortunately he had not been used as stud yet.

Recently pigmentation appeared on his feet. It is called a mottled paw pad and is a vestige of what was. Many leopard cats have pink paw pads

Such a white spot has no effect on his health, but is a 'mistake' in the Bengal.

Phoebe moved to her new home
Sunday, 30 May 2010

Yesterday we brought Phoebe to her new home.

After driving for 3 hours she stepped out of the transport box to look where we were. With the memory of 1.5 years ago in her memory, when we had ridden so far but then to bring her to the stud, she did not trust it at all. She expected every moment a cat around the corner that would want something of her. When we got drinking a cup of tea / coffee she crawled under the seat where Danny and I sat and mewed as we called her name and occasionally appear. Only when we went to the table to eat the soup that Inge's mother had made and a sandwich to eat, she went to investigate. Every few minutes, she came to look at the table to get affirmative pat. There she climbed for the first time on Inge's lap!

Today is goes much better and she chats a lot to Inge and follows her everywhere. She will still need a few days to settle down completely, but we're sure it all will be ok with Phoebe and Inge! She will receive a great life, partly because she is the only cat, and so gets all the attention she wants.
