There was already a huge difference between a litter of 7 and a litter of 5, but one kitten is a completely different experience!
It takes a very different approach than when a kitten has brothers and sisters to play with. We challenge him now to walk orplay. And because Faylinn preferably lies with Totem with us on the couch instead of in the delivery box we experience it allmuch more intense. The first step, discovering his leg for the first time and scratching behind his ear for the first time. Everyday you see him learn something new.
A major advantage of that Faylinn likes to share everything with us is that we have a lot of pictures and movie moments!

Faylinn found it much more fun this morning to lie with Totem on the couch instead of in the litterbox. For me the greatopportunity to take photos and make a movie!

Totem is now 2 weeks old and has the weight of a kitten of 3 weeks. ;-)
This is not surprising, because he does not waste energy pushing aside siblings in order to get the milk and has the milk for himself. Normally a kitten has a preference for a particular nipple, but Totem likes to changes. If one is empty, he just takes another!
Regularly we get Totem from the litterbox so he can already get used to our scents and our hands. Our voices and other household noises such as radio and vacuum cleaner he is getting to know of because he grows up in the living room.
Since yesterday Totem has opened his eyes and he looks into the world! So the nice picture and movie moments are started. Unfortunately it's already dark when we get home from work, but next week we have some days off, so we have enough time!
